Dewi the dragon visited our class last weekend but he was caught on camera!

We looked at photos of him. He especially enjoyed the special food the Reception children made him.

He was so grateful, he left a suitcase with lots of interesting Welsh objects inside for us to look at.

We're designing and making our own flags to celebrate St. David's Day.

We've been talking about the letter 'n' this week so we made beautiful necklaces.

These friends are writing the letter 'n' on a whiteboard.

We're looking closely at a friendly toad who came to visit us outside! We put him back very carefully.

Now where is that treasure? Let's take these wonderful swords we made and go and look!

Hurrah! We've got our treasure back!

We’re Going on an Egg Hunt!

What's going on today? We found lots of broken egg shells on the floor and a map.

We decided to follow the clues on the map. Where can it be leading us?

Through this door ...

... and another door.

Let's check the map again.

Into the hall and near the tree we found a huge egg! Wow!
Could it be a dragon's egg?

Back in class we explored some dragon food. It was hidden inside ice.

Peepo! We're in the dragon's cave.

Where is our treasure?

Oh no, lots of our treasure has been taken! We found some clues inside our treasure chest - a burnt letter and some dragon tears.

Mrs Finucane told us the story of the Red and White Dragons.

We'd better start training like knights if we're going to look for our treasure.

Who knows what adventures we'll have.
Let's practice balancing whilst holding our swords.

It's tricky hitting this target with a bow and arrow.

Is there any sign of those dragons?

Chopping vegetables to make soup for a banquet. It smells delicious!

Sunday 2 February 2014

Hip, hip hooray - we're off to

 Cardiff Castle today!

This looks like a funny sort of bus!

Is that a castle we can see ahead?

We've arrived at the real Cardiff Castle!

Look how tall this sword is.

We played with puppets.

Do you recognise this knight?

This knight's chain mail looks heavy!

Back in class, we've set up our own castle ticket booth.

How many jewels can we find hidden in the sand?

We've been busy in the banqueting hall at the castle ...

... and in the kitchen.

Shall we make some drinks for the banquet?

We've been talking about the letter 'p'. We've made pink playdough cakes so we can puff out the candles.

Painting flags to make a castle number line.

We had an exciting delivery – a treasure chest full of precious gems and jewellery!

Now, how can we help these knights travel across the bridge?

Making medicine in the medieval apothecary.

We're designing our own jewellery.
